Took this book with us on our trip, very useful, perfect size, maps in the back were used a lot, unlike other travel books this has enough information but not overwhelmingly too much!
Nice quick guide. Covers each section of Tokyo with the best things to see, and places to shop and eat. Many photos so you can choose what interests you. Nice inner and outer cover maps but all discussed locations are only found in the zoomed-in central area maps, so no help locating them for the outer areas.

Really useful. We also got the DK Eyewitness Travel Guide: Tokyo DK Eyewitness Travel Guide: Tokyo and recommend both. We went in Sakura (Cherry Blossom) season which is AWESOME! Nice colour printing and useful recommendations.It would be good to have more explanation about the Imperial Palace (can only be seen from outside on guided tours, you cannot find it on foot).Also check the annual weather charts for Tokyo before you travel, it is very very humid in some months such as July- too humid for some.The Japanese are wonderful people, scrupulously honest with impeccable public personas. They don't speak a lot of English but are very cooperative and friendly, and very clean and hygienic. Train signs flick between Japanese and English and sometimes Chinese.When you catch a bullet train, ensure you ask for reserved seats, otherwise you might get unreserved- better still get First Class, they don't cost much more.
