My 3rd graders love this book series! I use these books in an opinion writing unit. The students get super engaged in the topics and love writing about them. The book provides lots of "This or That" questions that students can pick from. Each question provides about a paragraph worth of information to support each choice. It is a good way to practice opinion writing and is an easy introduction to research based writing. After we are done with the unit, students love reading the books on their own as well! I would highly recommend for teachers!. I also purchased the This or That Suvival debate and History debate which are both good as well.

An awesome book to use for opinion writing!

Excellent for opinion writing in 3rd grade!

I use this book for an opinion writing unit in my 5th grade class. The students absolutely LOVE reading about the different animals and making a decision on which animal to choose. The book is entertaining and engaging which leads to some fantastic writing!

This is great. Using it in my classroom and the kids are loving it.

My third grade students loved this book, and I taught mini unit in opinion writing that went really well.

My 3rd grade students loved reading this. We read and took notes together and now they're using the notes to write opinion papers. Great resource. I only wish I had more copies. This book has a very long waiting list in my classroom.
